Domaine alain Gueneau
About the Winery
Alain Gueneau, who succeeded his parents in 1970, manages a domaine that extends its 16 hectares of vines on steep hillsides around Sury-en-Vaux, Sancerre, and Chavignol. His daughter Élisa has joined him in recent years. The family is fortunate to work together. 80% of their vines come from 'terres blanches' (clay-limestone soils that give the wine its richness and complexity), while the remaining 20% come from 'caillottes' (stony soils that bring beautiful fruity notes). The domaine is certified HVE and produces Sancerre white, Rose, and red wines that are true representations of traditional Sancerre.
“A family Sancerre estate on steep hillsides since 1970, producing classic wines from terres blanches and caillottes soils.”
