Scea a. Bernard et Fils
About the Winery
The Bernard family has been established in Vacqueyras since 1850, spanning six generations across a 75-hectare domaine planted with old vines. The domaine is particularly noted for its Gigondas and Vacqueyras wines. Recently, the succession has been assured by cousins Virginie Combe (responsible for winemaking) and Simon Bernard, along with David Bernard. The domaine covers 83 hectares, mostly in Vacqueyras (59.1 ha), with parcels in Gigondas (3.1 ha), Côtes du Rhône (11.5 ha), and Beaumes de Venise (1.3 ha). The grapes for reds are mostly not de-stemmed, and vinification and maturing take place in steel or cement tanks. The wines are regularly praised in wine guides for their quality and typicity.
