Earl hubert Metz
About the Winery
Covering approximately 10 hectares around Blienschwiller, between Barr and Sélestat, this domaine is housed in a beautiful building with an oriel window. The vaulted cellar, where magnificent oak foudres are aligned, served before the Revolution as the repository for the tithe - the tax paid in wine to the clergy. Hubert Metz had been running the property since 1971. He passed it on in 2016 to his daughter Céline, who had started her career in communication and consulting. The domaine is certified organic since 2021 and practices certified integrated pest management. The wines are known for their freshness, balance, and expressiveness, particularly the Rieslings.
“A historic domaine in a beautiful tithe courtyard dating to 1728, now organic certified and run by Céline Metz.”
