About the Winery

Cave vinicole de Cleebourg is an Alsatian cooperative winery founded in 1946 in the aftermath of World War II. Located in northern Alsace near the German border, the cooperative brings together 174 winegrowers cultivating approximately 200 hectares of vineyards. The cooperative produces around 15,000 hectoliters of wine annually, equivalent to approximately 2 million bottles. Their wines include Alsace AOC and Crémant d'Alsace, made from seven Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Auxerrois, Muscat, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Noir. The most planted variety is Auxerrois (28.5%), followed by Pinot Gris (26%), Riesling (16.5%), and Gewurztraminer (11%). The cooperative has also developed ten named lieu-dit wines to highlight specific terroirs. The cooperative is committed to sustainable viticulture with partial HVE and organic certification.
