Bernard Moueix is a wine estate in Pomerol, one of Bordeaux's most prestigious and smallest appellations. Located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, the estate produces wines primarily from Merlot, the dominant grape variety in Pomerol, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The Pomerol plateau's unique clay and gravel soils give the wines their characteristic power, richness, and silky texture. Bernard Moueix follows traditional Bordeaux winemaking methods, with aging in French oak barrels to add complexity and structure. Pomerol wines are known for their concentrated flavors, velvety tannins, and exceptional aging potential.
