Fabienne Balotte
About the Winery
Fabienne Balotte is the owner and winemaker of Château Fonrazade, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate located at the foot of the Saint-Émilion hill on sandy-clay soils. The property was acquired in 1955, and it took 10 years to structure the vineyard and construct the winemaking and reception buildings. Fabienne Balotte, now 62, manages every stage from vine to wine, including vine cultivation, harvesting, vinification, barrel aging, and bottling. She also handles marketing and customer relations. Château Fonrazade produces a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with ruby-red color, a nose of ripe lightly toasted fruit, velvety attack, fleshy silky texture, and a persistent spicy finish. The wine was named a 'Coup de Cœur' at the 2022 Coupe des Crus de Saint-Émilion.
