Jean Brana

Domaine Brana, 64220 Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France

About the Winery

Jean Brana is a family winery in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in the Irouléguy appellation of the French Basque Country. Irouléguy is one of France's smallest appellations, nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The estate produces wines from grape varieties native to the Basque Country, including Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc for reds, and Courbu, Petit Manseng, and Gros Manseng for whites. The vineyards are cultivated on steep terraced slopes with south-facing exposure, benefiting from the unique microclimate of the region. Jean Brana is known for crafting wines that reflect the distinctive character of the Basque terroir, with reds showing power and structure from Tannat, and whites displaying freshness and aromatic complexity.
