Soutiran
About the Winery
Champagne Soutiran was established in 1936 when Gérard Soutiran, after a military career, returned to his native Champagne to take over the vines of his former tutor and added those acquired through marriage to his wife Solange. In 1969, he was joined by his eldest son Alain, and together they traded as Soutiran-Pelletier. Today, Alain's eldest daughter Valérie and her husband Patrick Renaux manage the family's six hectares of vines centered on the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, plus four additional hectares in Premier Cru villages including Trépail, Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, and Chamery. Soutiran's distinctive approach is extended aging on the lees, with wines enjoying between five and ten years of bottle aging before disgorgement. These are gastronomic Champagnes designed for the table rather than as celebratory drinks. Their range includes Cuvée Signature (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay), Blanc de Blancs, Perle Noire (100% Pinot Noir), and Rose de Saignée.
“Family Champagne house in Grand Cru Ambonnay since 1936, known for extended lees aging of 5-10 years.”
