Domaine du château de la Valette
About the Winery
Domaine du Château de la Valette is a family-owned winery located in Charentay, in the heart of the Beaujolais region at the foot of Mont Brouilly. Since 1984, Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Crespin have been the proprietors and winegrowers, managing 14 hectares of vines. The estate produces a range of Beaujolais wines including Beaujolais Blanc, Rouge, Rose, Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, and Crémant de Bourgogne, as well as Rose pétillant made using the ancestral method. The domaine's vineyards feature Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc, an ancient grape variety, with vines averaging 60 years of age. The harvest is carried out by hand, and grapes are sorted on the vine and on a sorting belt at the winery. The estate's wines have been selected for the prestigious cellar of the Élysée Palace, a testament to their quality.
