About the Winery

The cooperative Balma Venitia was founded in 1956 by eight winegrowers in Beaumes-de-Venise, in the southern Rhône Valley. Today, the cooperative brings together 160 viticulteurs who harvest grapes from 1,000 hectares of vineyards. The cooperative produces wines under two AOC Beaumes-de-Venise appellations (red and the famous fortified Muscat), as well as Vacqueyras, Ventoux, Côtes-du-Rhône, and IGP wines. The cooperative is part of the Rhonea group, created in partnership with the Vignerons de Caractère de Vacqueyras. Their wines showcase the Mediterranean climate and diverse terroirs of the region, from the limestone soils of Beaumes-de-Venise to the alluvial plains of the Rhône.
