About the Winery

Fabien Duveau represents the eighth generation of his family to make wine in Chacé, near Saumur in the Loire Valley. He took over the estate in 2008, converting all 16 hectares to organic and biodynamic viticulture (Demeter certified in 2023). The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc across parcels in Chacé, Varrains, and Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, including the legendary Les Poyeux terroir. Duveau ages his wines in a stunning 14th-century cave carved from tuffeau stone, using concrete tanks for vinification and neutral oak for aging to preserve the purity of fruit and terroir. He is known for differentiating between Hauts Poyeux and Bas Poyeux, and for making Chenin Blanc from Poyeux—a rarity in the region. His wines express the unique tuffeau and clay-limestone soils of Saumur-Champigny with freshness, elegance, and remarkable precision.
