Joseph Gsell
About the Winery
Domaine Joseph Gsell is a historic estate in Orschwihr, southern Alsace, with a property that was acquired by the Gsell family in 1821. The estate has always been a winemaker's house, with the old cellar dating back to 1691. Today, the domaine is operated by Nathalie and Julien Gsell, cultivating approximately 10 hectares that have been farmed organically since 2007. Their vineyards are situated on the limestone hill of the Bollenberg, where Mediterranean flora thrives, as well as on the Grand Crus Pfingstberg and Spiegel. The estate produces wines across all Alsace categories, from traditional wines to Grand Cru expressions, all certified organic. Their wines are known for being fruity, ready to enjoy young, yet capable of aging beautifully.
“An organic estate since 2007 with roots in Orschwihr since 1821, producing wines from the Bollenberg and Grand Crus Pfingstberg and Spiegel.”
