Earl jean-charles Girard-Madoux
About the Winery
Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux founded his eponymous domaine in 2006, after repurchasing vineyards once owned by his grandfather that had been sold in 1976. The vineyard is situated on a south-west facing limestone and clay hillside at the foot of Mont Granier in the commune of Chignin. The estate cultivates 6.5 hectares where Jacquère, Mondeuse, Roussanne, and Gamay grape varieties grow side by side. All vineyard work is done by hand, and the estate is certified organic. Jean-Charles has been hailed as an emerging star by the Guide Hachette and featured in Lettie Teague's Wall Street Journal wine column.
“Founded in 2006 on ancestral vineyards in Chignin, certified organic, hailed as an emerging star by Guide Hachette.”
