Domaine Notre-Dame des Pallières
About the Winery
Domaine Notre-Dame des Pallières is a very old family estate whose name dates back to the Middle Ages, when a miraculous spring on the property was believed to protect against the plague. Family patriarch Jules Roux planted the estate's vines over a hundred years ago, and some are still producing. Since 1991, Claude Roux has been cultivating the 30-hectare vineyard, and now his children Isabelle and Julien represent the fifth generation to lead the estate. The vines grow on alluvial soils in a microclimate of the small Trignon valley with exceptional sunshine. The estate produces Gigondas, Sablet, Lirac, Rasteau, and Côtes-du-Rhône wines, consistently ranked among the top in blind tastings.
“A historic family estate in Gigondas with 30 hectares, producing wines ranked among the village's best for five generations.”
