About the Winery

Barton & Guestier is the oldest wine merchant (négoce) in Bordeaux, founded in 1725 when the young Irishman Thomas Barton established his business in Bordeaux. In 1802, his grandson Hugh Barton founded the trading house with shipowner Daniel Guestier. Today, the company is present in 130 countries across five continents and is well known to millions of consumers worldwide. The Barton & Guestier range represents the fantastic diversity of French wines from the main winegrowing regions across the country. Their winemakers work in partnership with around 250 winegrowers in France, with all wines selected and monitored by Head Winemaker Laurent Prada and his team. The company controls all steps of the winemaking process, from pruning to bottling.
