Château Bouscaut

About the Winery

Château Bouscaut is a Grand Cru Classé des Graves estate in Pessac-Léognan, with a vineyard dating back to the 17th century in Cadaujac. Acquired by Lucien Lurton in 1979, the estate has been managed by Sophie Lurton and her husband Laurent Cogombles since 1992, now joined by their son Armand. The terroir is composed of clay-gravel soils on a limestone subsoil. The estate produces both red and white wines: Château Bouscaut (red and white), the second wine Les Chênes de Bouscaut, and Château Valoux. The red wines are predominantly Merlot, giving suppleness allied with power from the terroir, while the whites are an equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The vineyard is certified organic.
