About the Winery

Commanded by an 18th-century château housing 15th-century cellars, this estate acquired by the family in 1939 has been directed since 1993 by Jean-Pierre Cournut, a former aeronautical engineer. The 14-hectare vineyard is essentially planted in Chassagne-Montrachet (70% 1er Crus), with parcels in Santenay. The estate produces both white wines (Chardonnay) including premier cru Chassagne-Montrachet, and red wines (Pinot Noir) from Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. The limestone and marl soils of the Côte de Beaune give the white wines their characteristic richness and minerality.
