Domaine Laubarel

3000, rte de Cordes, 81600 Gaillac, France

About the Winery

This small 8-hectare estate was founded in 1904 and was taken over in 2008 by Lucas Merlo, a winemaker native to Albi. After working in the Médoc and at Cahors, he settled on the first hillsides of Gaillac with a respectful approach to the environment: no chemical weeding or fertilizers, installation of beehives and hedgerows. The estate produces Gaillac wines from traditional varieties including Duras, Braucol, Mauzac, and Loin de l'Oeil, showcasing the diversity of the Gaillac terroir with its clay-limestone and gravel soils.

An 8-hectare Gaillac estate founded in 1904, now led by Lucas Merlo with environmentally respectful viticulture.
