About the Winery
The fifth generation is now active in this estate in the Agly Valley, which has been producing wine in its own cellar since 1989. As its name indicates, schist marls dominate the terroir. Jacques and Michaël Sire are meticulous about soil work, and their 45-hectare estate is farmed organically. The wines reflect the distinctive schist soils of the region, which give the wines their minerality and complexity. The estate produces wines from Roussillon appellations including Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, and Maury, using traditional varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan.
“A 45-hectare organic estate in the Agly Valley, known for wines that express the distinctive schist marl terroir of Roussillon.”
