About the Winery

Domaine de Souviou is a historic estate located in a hidden valley of the Massif de la Sainte-Baume in Provence, with origins dating back nearly 2,000 years. The estate extends over 95 hectares of forest, vineyards and olive groves overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Historical records trace the estate's vineyard development to the 16th century. After being revived by the Cagnolari family in 1984, the estate was acquired in 2001 by the Pascal family, who revived olive cultivation alongside winemaking. In 2011, Roger Jaar acquired the estate, modernizing the winery while preserving its traditional agricultural identity. The property features 7,000 olive trees (200 of them millennia-old), a 15th-century bastide house, a chapel with 'angel wings' that belonged to actress Danielle Darrieux, and a modern tasting cellar. The vineyard produces wines under both AOP Bandol and AOP Côtes de Provence, with varieties including Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Carignan for reds and Roses, plus Clairette, Ugni Blanc, and Rolle for whites. The estate has been in organic conversion since 2011.

A historic 95-hectare estate in Provence producing Bandol and Côtes de Provence wines alongside award-winning olive oils from 7,000 ancient trees.
