Jérôme Bibey
About the Winery
Yves Bibey acquired Château Labadie in 1970 with 4 hectares at the tip of the Médoc; today, the vineyard of this notable quality Cru Bourgeois covers 70 hectares. The estate also includes Château Pontet Barrail (Cru Bourgeois, 17 hectares) and Château du Moulin Neuf. The entire property is managed by Jérôme, son of Yves, who took over in 1999 after experience in Australia. In 2025, Château Labadie was promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. The Bibey family has been present in the Médoc for many generations, and the name 'Labadie' comes from an old abbey that once stood on the land. The vineyard practices sustainable viticulture including sexual confusion to avoid insecticides.
“A 70-hectare Médoc estate classified Cru Bourgeois Supérieur since 2025, with additional properties Château Pontet Barrail and Château du Moulin Neuf.”
