Domaine g. Saumaize
About the Winery
Guy Saumaize was touched by the winegrowing virus from a young age, accompanying his parents in the vines. He naturally became a winemaker and also created a renowned nursery frequented by many producers in the region. His wife Annie took over after his passing in 2013. Since 2018, their son Guillaume has been at the helm of this 15-hectare domaine, which he renamed from Domaine des Maillettes to Domaine G. Saumaize. The estate produces wines from the Mâconnais appellations, including Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Villages, all from Chardonnay. The wines express the diverse terroirs of the region with remarkable precision.
“A 15-hectare family estate in Davayé, now in its third generation with Guillaume Saumaize, producing white Burgundy from the Mâconnais appellations.”
