Domaine du Meix-Foulot

11, rue du Clos-du-Roy , 71640 Mercurey France

About the Winery

In 1996, Agnès Dewé de Launay took over this 20.5-hectare domaine from her father Paul, continuing a family tradition of over two centuries. The estate lies just below the ruins of Château de Montaigu in Mercurey, in the Côte Chalonnaise. The domaine's flagship is the Premier Cru Clos du Château de Montaigu (a 1.9-hectare monopole), which was first planted in the 1950s. The wines have earned critical acclaim, including 94 points from James Suckling for the 2020 Clos du Château de Montaigu. Agnès was recognized as 'Best Wine Maker' by Bourgogne Aujourd'hui in 2024. The estate practices a cross-cutting ecological approach including rainwater harvesting, winter sheep grazing, and short-circuit suppliers.

A 20.5-hectare family estate in Mercurey for over 200 years, with the flagship Premier Cru Clos du Château de Montaigu monopole.
