Château Quinault l'Enclos
About the Winery
This important 19-hectare domaine can rightfully mention 'L'Enclos' on its label: its walled vineyard is enclosed within the town of Libourne. In 2008, it changed hands when Dr. Alain Raynaud sold it to Baron Frère and Bernard Arnault (LVMH). It is managed by the teams of Pierre Lurton, who also oversee Château Cheval Blanc, and they initiated organic conversion in 2009. The estate was promoted in the last Saint-Émilion classification in 2012. The vineyard is planted on sandy soils over clay subsoil, similar to neighboring Pomerol, and produces wines of remarkable finesse and elegance.
“A 19-hectare walled vineyard in Libourne, owned by LVMH since 2008 and managed by Pierre Lurton's teams, classified Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.”
