About the Winery
The Sumeire family, established in Trets since at least the 13th century, and long wine merchants, owns three châteaux in Provence: Coussin, the cradle of the family, L'Afrique, and Maupague. Today, Olivier and Sophie Sumeire manage this 90-hectare vineyard. Château Coussin, acquired in 1903 by Baptistin Gautier, is located on the exceptional terroir of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, where vines have been cultivated since antiquity. The estate produces Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire Rose, red, and white wines.
“A historic Provence estate on Montagne Sainte-Victoire since the 13th century, with 90 hectares managed by Olivier and Sophie Sumeire producing Sainte-Victoire wines.”
