About the Winery
The Vignoble des Verdots takes its name from an underground river of the same name, which flows through the monumental aging cellar carved into the rock. It was acquired in 2021 by Robert Wessman, an Icelandic businessman, who expanded its area to 58 hectares. For four generations, the estate was the property of a family from Saint-Émilion. David Fourtout, who inherited it in 1992, made it a safe bet of the Bergerac region. A success linked to a beautiful terroir of limestone veined with flint, modern facilities, and rigorous selections.
“A historic Bergerac estate with a monumental cellar carved into rock, now expanded to 58 hectares under Robert Wessman since 2021.”
