Domaine Blard et Fils
About the Winery
Domaine Blard et Fils is a family estate in Porte-de-Savoie (formerly Les Marches), in the Savoie wine region of eastern France, at the foot of the mountains. The estate has been passed down through five generations and is currently managed by Jean-Noël Blard and his son Thomas. The domaine covers 9 hectares of vineyards, surrounded by mountains in a setting described as 'heaven on earth.' The estate produces wines from local Savoie grape varieties including Jacquère, Altesse, and Mondeuse. They are particularly known for their Crémant de Savoie, made using Champagne-inspired methods with long aging on lees. The estate practices sustainable viticulture and produces wines that reflect the unique alpine terroir of Savoie. Thomas studied in Champagne, bringing expertise in sparkling wine production to the domaine. The wines are crafted without oak aging, with aging on fine lees to promote balance and finesse.
