About the Winery

Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur is a historic family estate in Volnay, in the Côte de Beaune of Burgundy, with roots dating back to 1804 when the Bitouzet family settled in the village. The domaine was created through the merger of the Bitouzet and Prieur family holdings, with Annie Prieur bringing distinguished Meursault vineyards to the estate. The domaine covers 12 hectares, with approximately 4 hectares of Chardonnay and 8 hectares of Pinot Noir. In Meursault, they hold parcels in Premier Crus including Charmes, Perrières, and Santenots. In Volnay, they have an impressive collection of Premier Crus including Clos des Chênes, Taillepieds, Caillerets, Pitures, and Mitans. Vincent Bitouzet and his son François rigorously practice organic viticulture, using indigenous yeasts and traditional Burgundian vinification. The wines are known for their classic style, age-worthiness, and faithful expression of terroir, with both reds and whites capable of considerable development in the cellar.

A historic estate in Volnay since 1804, with 12 hectares including prestigious Premier Crus in both Volnay and Meursault, practicing organic viticulture and traditional Burgundian methods.
