Domaine Bernard Defaix is a family estate in Chablis, Burgundy, founded in 1959 by Bernard Defaix. The estate is now managed by his sons Sylvain and Didier Defaix, who have elevated the domaine to the top ranks of Chablis producers. The estate spans 27 hectares of vineyards, with holdings in Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru (including Côte de Léchet, Vaillons, and Lys), and Petit Chablis. The brothers have been committed to organic viticulture and biodynamic practices, achieving organic certification and incorporating biodynamic principles. The estate's wines are known for their precision, elegance, and pure expression of Chardonnay from the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis. The wines are particularly praised for their steely freshness, nervy tension, and mineral character that perfectly captures the essence of Chablis terroir.
