About the Winery

Veuve Amiot is a historic sparkling wine house founded in 1884 in Saumur, in the Loire Valley. The house was established by Elisa Amiot, who took over after her husband's death, hence the name Veuve Amiot (Widow Amiot). The company is renowned for producing Crémant de Loire and other sparkling wines using the traditional method. In 1988, Veuve Amiot joined forces with Bouvet-Ladubay and today produces some 13 million bottles annually, making it one of the largest sparkling wine producers in the Loire Valley. The wines are known for their quality and consistency, reflecting the unique terroir of Saumur with its tuffeau limestone soils.
