About the Winery

The Meyer family has been making wine in the village of Blienschwiller since the 15th century, with generation after generation of Meyer winegrowers succeeding each other in this village south of Bas-Rhin. Pierre-Yves Meyer took over from his father François in 2001 after exploring vineyards in Australia, bringing new ideas while respecting the family's deep attachment to tradition, particularly the use of traditional oval foudres. The domaine covers 13 hectares and has been engaged in organic conversion since 2019. The estate's vineyards are located on several terroirs including the Winzenberg (granitic soils), Thal (clay), and Steinacker (schist), each giving distinctive character to their Rieslings. Pierre-Yves notably acquired a mare to plow the oldest vines as part of his commitment to traditional, sustainable viticulture.
