About the Winery
Founded in 1843 in Aÿ by Edmond Besserat, Champagne Besserat de Bellefon is known for its particularly fine bubbles—30% finer than traditional Champagne—achieved through a unique winemaking process. The house was acquired by the Lanson-BCC Group and produces approximately 1.3 million bottles annually from 25 hectares and purchases from 110 communes. Since 2020, Nathalie Doucet has presided over the company, with Cédric Thiébault as cellar master. The wines are vinified without malolactic fermentation for enhanced vivacity.
“Founded in 1843, known for exceptionally fine bubbles and wines vinified without malolactic fermentation.”
