About the Winery
In a magnificent natural amphitheater with terraced vineyards, Clos la Rivière is a family estate in Saint-Chinian. Jean-Philippe Madalle's grandfather planted Syrah as early as 1970. Jean-Philippe, an oenologist, took over the family estate in 2007 with Carole, managing 17 hectares of old vines at 300 meters altitude. The estate produces silky, fruity red wines, fresh whites, and Roses, regularly recognized in the Guide Hachette and Bettane & Desseauve guide.
“A family estate with 17 hectares of old vines in a terraced amphitheater, producing Saint-Chinian wines since 1970.”
