About the Winery
In 1983, Jean-Charles Borgnat transitioned from offshore oil platforms to viticulture, applying his geology training to his new career. After working in the family estate, he created Domaine de la Commanderie from scratch in 1993, building nearly 9 hectares in the Quincy appellation. In 2008, he acquired a vineyard in Reuilly, now totaling 3.5 hectares. The estate benefits from diverse terroirs that produce distinctive Loire Valley white wines, particularly from Sauvignon Blanc.
“An estate created in 1993 by a geologist-turned-winemaker, spanning Quincy and Reuilly appellations.”
