Sas Moncigale
About the Winery
SAS Moncigale is a wine producer in Beaucaire, in the Costières de Nîmes appellation at the southern edge of the Rhône Valley. The name 'Moncigale' evokes the cicadas (cigales) that sing in the Mediterranean sunshine, reflecting the estate's connection to the warm, sunny climate of the region. The Costières de Nîmes is the most southerly appellation in the Rhône Valley, with vineyards planted on terraces of rounded quartzite stones (galet roulés) similar to those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate produces wines from the classic southern Rhône grape varieties including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cinsault. The wines are characterized by their ripe fruit flavors, spice, and the garrigue (wild herb) notes typical of the Mediterranean.
“A Costières de Nîmes producer crafting Mediterranean wines under the southern sun of the Rhône.”
