Domaine de la Croix Rouge
About the Winery
Domaine de la Croix Rouge is a family estate in Juliénas, one of the ten Cru villages of Beaujolais. The Juliénas appellation takes its name from Julius Caesar, and the estate produces wines from Gamay grown on the region's pink granite, clay, and ancient alluvial soils. The wines of Juliénas are known for their rich, full-bodied character with notes of red and black fruits, peony, and spice. The domaine uses traditional Beaujolais winemaking methods including whole-cluster fermentation to produce wines that are both expressive of their terroir and capable of aging gracefully. The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture and meticulous vineyard work.
“A family estate crafting rich, expressive Juliénas Cru Beaujolais from diverse terroirs.”
