Domaine du Grapillon d'Or is a prestigious Gigondas estate in the Southern Rhône Valley, known for producing powerful, structured wines from old vines. The name 'Grapillon d'Or' refers to the golden grape, symbolizing the estate's pursuit of excellence. Gigondas was elevated to Cru status in 1971, becoming one of the most respected appellations in the southern Rhône. The estate's wines are crafted primarily from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grown on the slopes at the foot of the dramatic Dentelles de Montmirail limestone mountains. The terroir's combination of altitude, limestone soils, and Mediterranean climate produces wines of great concentration, elegance, and aging potential.
