Domaine de Pierre Blanche

53, RD 1086, 42410 Chavanay, France

About the Winery

Domaine de Pierre Blanche was created from scratch in 1990 by Michel and Xavier Mourier, who cleared the land and built terraces before planting. From 1.5 hectares originally, the vineyard has grown to more than 14 hectares on south and south-east facing terraces at altitudes between 126 and 350 metres, with slopes of 40-60%. In addition to their estate production, the Mouriers also operate as négociant-éleveur. They produce wines from Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and IGP appellations, with a focus on Syrah for reds and Viognier for whites. Their Condrieu cuvées include Résurgence and La Légende, vinified in barrels with ageing on fine lees.

A Northern Rhône estate created in 1990 from cleared hillside terraces, producing Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph from 14 hectares.
