André Stentz

2, rue de la Batteuse, 68920 Wettolsheim, France

About the Winery

The Stentz family settled in Wettolsheim, 5 km southwest of Colmar, in 1674. André Stentz took over in 1976 and adopted organic methods in 1984, certified by Ecocert and Nature et Progrès. In 2020, he passed the reins to his son Xavier, who introduced agroforestry and green manures. The 9.5-hectare estate produces a complete range of Alsace wines: varietal wines (Sylvaner, Edelzwicker, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer), terroir wines from Rosenberg, Schoflit, and Grand Crus Mandelberg and Steingrübler, plus late harvest and Sélection de Grains Nobles. Their Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Steingrübler are particularly celebrated.

An organic Alsace estate since 1984 with 9.5 hectares, including Grand Cru Steingrübler and Mandelberg, now run by Xavier Stentz.
