Domaine Tambour

138, av. du Puig-del-Mas, 66650 Banyuls-sur-Mer, France

About the Winery

Founded in 1920 by Adrien Herre, Domaine Tambour was named in memory of an ancestor who was a drummer ('tambour') during the Battle of Col de Banyuls. Now in its 5th generation with Clémentine Herre at the helm since 2004, the 13-hectare estate is Franco-Catalan and fiercely proud of its heritage. The vineyards cling to steep schist terraces with slopes up to 40%, at altitudes reaching 500 metres. The family works entirely by hand on these dramatic hillsides where the sea meets the mountains. They are known for their oenotourism offerings including vineyard visits on foot, horseback, catamaran or helicopter, and themed tastings. The estate produces AOC Banyuls and Collioure wines.

A 5th-generation family estate since 1920 producing Banyuls and Collioure from steep schist terraces, offering unique oenotourism experiences.
