Domaine Marcon
About the Winery
Philippe Marcon, son of a winegrower, started in 1989 and served as president of the Saint-Jean-de-Minervois cooperative for three years. In 2010, he decided to vinify his own wines. Today he has 15 hectares of vines with main grape varieties including Muscat Petit Grain, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. While the tasting cellar is in Saint-Chinian, the vineyard is planted at the hamlet of Barroubio in Saint-Jean-de-Minervois, on the foothills of the Montagne Noire with views of the Pyrenees. The estate is particularly known for its Muscat de Saint-Jean-de-Minervois sweet wines, among the best of the appellation.
“A 15-hectare estate run by Philippe Marcon, known for exceptional Muscat de Saint-Jean-de-Minervois sweet wines.”
