Paul Scherer et Fils
About the Winery
Paul Scherer et Fils is established in Husseren-les-Châteaux, the highest point on the Alsace Wine Route south of Colmar. Didier Scherer has continued the exploitation since 1994, with origins dating back to 1750. The estate is distinguished by its Gewurztraminer wines, both in Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru appellations. They have vines in the Grand Cru Eichberg, a terroir shared with neighbouring Eguisheim, where the marl-limestone soils particularly suit Gewurztraminer. The domain produces a range of Alsace wines including Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, late harvest wines and Sélection de Grains Nobles.
“A family estate since 1750 in Husseren-les-Châteaux, known for exceptional Gewurztraminer including Grand Cru Eichberg wines.”
