Frédéric Michot
About the Winery
Frédéric Michot is a wine producer located in Saint-Andelain in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation of the Loire Valley. The estate produces wines from Sauvignon Blanc, the sole grape variety permitted in Pouilly-Fumé. The vineyards are planted on the famous Kimmeridgian marl and flint (silex) soils that give Pouilly-Fumé its distinctive smoky, gunflint character. Saint-Andelain is one of the most prestigious villages in the appellation, and Michot's wines exemplify the steely minerality and complex aromatics that have made Pouilly-Fumé one of the world's great white wine appellations. The estate practices careful vineyard management to produce wines of exceptional purity and terroir expression.
