Château de Rayne Vigneau
About the Winery
Château de Rayne Vigneau is a prestigious Sauternes estate in Bordeaux, classified as a First Growth (Premier Cru Classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification for its sweet white wines. Located in the commune of Bommes in the Sauternes appellation, the estate produces wines primarily from Sémillon with additions of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The wines are made from grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), which concentrates the sugars and creates the luscious, honeyed character that Sauternes is famous for. The estate is considered one of the best producers of Sauternes, known for wines of extraordinary richness, complexity, and aging potential.
“Premier Cru Classé Sauternes estate, one of the finest producers of botrytized sweet wines in Bordeaux.”
