Château la Grande Barde
About the Winery
Château la Grande Barde was acquired in 1995 by Belgian brewer M. van der Kelen, who purchased 15 hectares across two Saint-Émilion satellite appellations: Château la Grande Barde in Montagne and Château Haut-Saint-Georges (6 hectares) in Saint-Georges. A large portion of the wines is exported to Belgium. The property features modernized cellars installed in immense underground caves. Château Haut-Saint-Georges has earned a reputation as a reliable value. The vineyards produce wines from classic Bordeaux varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon) on clay-limestone soils typical of the Saint-Émilion region.
“A Saint-Émilion satellite estate with 15 hectares in Montagne and Saint-Georges, with modernized cellars in underground caves.”
