Alsace Habsiger
About the Winery
Paul and Simone Habsiger established themselves in Gertwiller in 1967, near the town of Barr famous for its gingerbread. They abandoned mixed farming and livestock in the mid-1980s to focus on viticulture. Their son Alain took over in 1992 and is now joined by his son Antoine. The 9.5-hectare estate includes a beautiful half-timbered house from 1733 topped with a stork's nest - a true picture-postcard image of Alsace. The domaine is certified organic since 2023 and practices biodynamic viticulture. They produce a full range of Alsace wines including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Muscat, Pinot Noir, and Crémant d'Alsace.
“A family estate in Gertwiller since 1967 in a 1733 half-timbered house, certified organic since 2023 with 9.5 hectares.”
