Earl domaine Berthet-Capeau
About the Winery
Domaine Berthet-Capeau is a family estate in the Southern Rhône Valley, where Christian Berthet-Rayne took over in 1980. His daughter Laure and son-in-law Martial Capeau, who arrived in 2004, have since taken the helm. The 29-hectare estate is certified organic since 2007, producing Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Vin de France wines. Their Châteauneuf-du-Pape red is crafted from old vine Grenache (80%), Cinsault, and Mourvèdre, offering fruitiness, suppleness, and freshness. They also produce a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Clairette, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc, known for its complexity and freshness.
“A 29-hectare organic estate in Courthézon producing Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1980, now run by Laure and Martial Capeau.”
