Domaine de Moulin-Pouzy
About the Winery
Domaine de Moulin-Pouzy is the historic property of the Castaing family, created in 1898 on the left bank of the Dordogne River near Bergerac. Fabien Castaing has led the estate since 2008 as the fifth generation, managing 65 hectares (expanded from initial smaller plots). In 2016, he acquired Château Les Mailleries, a 12-hectare organic estate. The domaine produces wines from the Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac, Monbazillac, and Vin de Pays appellations. Certified HVE Level 3 and in organic conversion, the estate combines traditional and modern winemaking in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, French and American oak barrels, and even clay egg-shaped tanks. They also produce beer and grape juice.
“A five-generation estate since 1898 near Bergerac, with 65 hectares producing Bergerac, Monbazillac, and Côtes de Bergerac wines.”
