Château Sarpe Grand Jacques
About the Winery
Château Sarpe Grand Jacques is an organic Saint-Émilion estate that began in 1984 when Pierre and Anne-Lise Chatenet took over family lands in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, which they named Moulin de Lagnet. Their son Olivier joined them in 2007. In 2017, Olivier and his partner Audrey Carraretto took over the Château Sarpe Grand Jacques from Olivier's great-uncle Jean Olivet. The 6-hectare estate sits on limestone soils with asteries on the Saint-Émilion plateau, now certified organic. The property produces Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines from 100% Merlot grapes with an average vine age of 38 years, following biodynamic principles with minimal intervention.
“An organic Saint-Émilion estate on limestone soils, producing Merlot-based wines following biodynamic principles since 2017.”
