Scea domaine des Amouriers
About the Winery
Domaine des Amouriers is a family estate in Sarrians, in the Vacqueyras and IGP Vaucluse appellations of the Southern Rhône. The Polish family Chudzikiewicz arrived in the Rhône around 1900, and a son married a daughter from the Amouriers family in Vacqueyras. The domaine name comes from the Provençal word for mulberry trees ('mûriers') that once grew on the property when silk production was important in the region. The estate covers 30 hectares in Vacqueyras and IGP du Vaucluse. Since 2014, the vineyards have been certified organic. Jocelyn Chudzikiewicz took over in 1979 and tragically died in a traffic accident in 1997. His son Igor, after completing his oenological education and working in South Africa and Australia, now runs the estate with Patrick Gras. The domaine produces several Vacqueyras cuvées including Cuvée Truffières, Cuvée Signature, and Cuvée Les Genestes.
“A family estate with Polish roots since 1900, now with 30 hectares in Vacqueyras, certified organic since 2014.”
